Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry After Claims of Bias in Disclosed Memo
We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, that chairs the panel.
She commences by giving context to the leaked memo prepared by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it straight, impartial and equitable," he says.
In response to a query if he considers the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser answers: "Absolutely not. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is top-tier - encompassing documentary and entertainment programming."
Nevertheless, he states: "There is real work that requires attention at the BBC."
Another previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it operates a "ongoing system and active debate" across dynamic and complex topics.
"Whether the BBC was ready to conduct a thorough dialogue and argument and implement changes?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
