Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers reported they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then located many other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report early analysis show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not aware of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
